The most important thing OAU gave me.

Hiii! I’m so glad to have you here 🤗🤗. Thank you for stopping by to read this, and I assure you that you won’t regret doing so. So let’s get into it….

There is a very high chance that you, who is currently reading this post is either a student or was formerly a student. Then you most likely know what being in school is all about and also have an experience of how it feels to be there.

One popular saying that I used to hear  while I was in school is this “don’t just pass through school, let school also pass through you”.

I believe it means that by the time you come out of school, you should be transformed by the school system, learnings, disciplines etc that you went through, thus making you a better person for your personal good and the society at large.

(Although this might not be the case with the current system of Education in the country, but God is helping us).

So just like you, I was also opportuned to get admission into school and to the glory of God, I came out with good stuffs such as a Bsc. in Biochemistry (I’ve not convocated though, so it’s not official yet), great friends, a more beautiful face🥰 (lol), etc.

But the sole purpose of this writeup is to share with you the most important thing that I came out of OAU with that showed indeed, I did not just pass through “OAU”, but “OAU” also passed through me.

This story would never be complete or even make sense if I don’t mention God because it all started with Him, and He was the one working it out.

Have you come across this book? “Purpose driven life” by Rick Warren. The 2nd day of the first chapter is titled “you’re not an accident” and that exactly describes my admission into OAU campus.

My admission into OAU to study Biochemistry wasn’t an accident. In fact, I did not want to accept the admission at first because I wanted to try again so that I could get a better course. But the fact that I later accepted it is all part of God’s plan. (Because I actually tried it again the next year and did not get any admission)

I did not write this to tell you stories of how I slept and woke and ate, or of my classes and exams, or my grades or the fun and pains I went through.

But to tell you that my admission into OAU was what God used to connect me to Destiny and Purpose.

I was already a Christian before I entered school, but on entering school, everything took on a new light and perspective. It actually really started in my 200l.

What do I mean by connection with Destiny or Purpose, or seeing things in a new light?

I became aware that Christianity is not a religion but an experiential experience of the reality of the love of God for man. I got to know to an extent God’s great love and plans for me. (His love becomes more real day by day and His plans become clearer as we fellowship and journey with Him.)

I got to know about the nature of God, Love, Light, Goodness etc. about the communion of the Holy Spirit, about growing into the measure of the stature of Christ, about the fact that I have a purpose to fulfil in this world and many other truths.

This was made possible because of the mercy of God, the household of love that God put me in, Anglican students fellowshipp (ASFOAU), the various gifts in human form that God sent my way to help me. God is indeed wonderful.

Now, some people get this experience before they entered school, for some it was immediately they resumed school, and for some it did not even happen in a school environment at all.

Another angle is that, some people experience this in a dramatic manner like Apostle Paul (I’m sure you’re familiar with how God encountered him on his way to Damascus), and for some, it happens in just a normal way such as anyone who is a pastor’s child and has been hearing Jesus all of his life. But that doesn’t take away the fact that God is still at work.

So why am I telling you all this? It is to tell you, dearest reader that your being on earth is not an accident and that whatever happens to you, or however your life turns out isn’t an accident in any way.

Jeremiah 1:5 says “AMP:Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

That was the word of God to Jeremiah and it’s the same for you although yours might not be to become a prophet.

Whatever happens in a man’s life is all part of God’s plan to move him closer to his destiny.

Apostle Paul was a persecutor of Christians before He became an Apostle. Apostle Peter was a fisherman before Jesus called him to follow him. David was a shepherd boy before God made him king.

And even if you’ve been a Christian from day one, you’re well on your way to destiny as well.

Everything that happens in a man’s life is never by mistake. Your parents, school, course, talents and gifts, experiences, your strengths and weaknesses are all part of God’s intricate plan. (Romans 8: 28 – 30).

If you have experienced this, you should reminiscence on it from time to time and give thanks to God for bringing you into purpose.

 In summary:

➡God is Love and He loves you very much (1 John

➡He created you with a purpose in mind and He is committed to bringing you into it. (Jeremiah 1: 5, Isaiah ).

God, in His infinite mercy will find a way to bring you into His purpose. But are you yielding to Him?

It starts with responding to the love of God by accepting Jesus as your Lord and saviour. Have you done so?

And if you have done so, are you taking the necessary steps to grow in faith?

Are you journeying towards fulfilment of purpose?

This is the best decision a man can ever make in His life, and I would really love us to journey together, to explore the vast dimensions of God and also reveal Him to the world. It’s xoxo amazing. 😚😚

I hope this blessed you.

I would love to know your thoughts in the comment section.
