How do I overcome the glitches(obstacles) of walking with God?

Hii 😘

Helloo! You’re welcome to another episode of Journeying in Faith. I’m so delighted to have you here. 🤗🤗🤗
How has the journey of faith been for you?

Hmmm, you see this Christian journey ehn, it is two sides of a coin, sometimes it can be so sweet and great, when you’re seeing the goodness of God left and right, and you just want to shout it on the mountain tops, and other times, there may be some glitches along the way 😣😞, those moments you feel like “does God still exist?”

This glitch (obstacles) often comes in different forms.
You know, there are times, I would want to post on my status about God, his goodness, etc and
then the devil will come and say, “don’t you think you should be careful with the way you shout this Jesus?, is your walk perfect? Are you even sure you will end it well?”

And then some other times, it could be about my devotion. Praying and studying the word could pose a difficult task sometimes. And when I consider how unfaithful I have been, I can’t help but be grateful to God for His own faithfulness despite my unfaithfulness.

In fact, those ones are still minor, it can get more challenging when God gives you seemingly difficult instructions, like He told Abraham to sacrifice His only son, or like the purpose of our Lord Jesus Christ, (dying on the cross).

Thinking about it now, the instruction to start this blog was also unbelievable the first time it came.

And people may even be the one to make it difficult such as the case of Daniel being
thrown into the Lion’s den, Joseph being sold by his brothers, persecution of the apostles by people and many other examples like that.

So what am I saying?
What I am saying is “Do you have those moments when you really love God and want to serve Him and do his will, but you are not sure of yourself because of all these glitches on the way?

Hmm, O ga o😞

You ask questions such as, “this my walk with God, will it even last? Will I make it till the end? This purpose thing sef, will I even fulfill it?
After all my broadcasts about me being a Christian, what if I now fall by the wayside?

Why does following God seem like a hard thing to do?
Why can’t it be fun and merry all the way?

I have felt this way before and you may also have felt this way, or currently feeling this way, and that’s why I want to show you what the Holy Spirit showed me.

NKJV:Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13AMP:[Not in your strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in
you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for
His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.. Phillipians 2: 12 – 13.

In verse 12, the Apostle Paul told us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, that’s in the place of what we have to do, but immediately in the next verse 13, he said that God is the one who enables us both to want and to actually live out his good purposes.

My emphasis in this message is on verse 13.
Like I said in my last blog post, that the journey of a man’s life is orchestrated by God, his
journey of faith is inclusive.
It is God who initiates the process, and He is the one who works out the process. He is the one who helps you to do that desire.

Although you have a part to do (verse 12), It is God who helps us to do. The fact that you’re the
one doing it does not mean you’re doing it by yourself. ” God is at work in you not just to will but
also to do”. God does not just call you to himself, or give you a task. He also supplies the grace for it.
At the base of it all, it is God.

But the reason why we think it is hard to follow God, or to fulfil our assignment is because we think it it is by our own strength, when we start to consider all our failures and weaknesses.

No sis, it is not by your own power, but He has deposited His own power on your inside.

As long as you continue to think it’s your power, you will always find it difficult and most times, it will end in failure.

And that is why you should never look to yourself or trust in yourself to journey in faith.
There is nowhere in the scriptures where it is written that a man should look up to himself (that’s not even possible), or trust in himself, the thing is to look up to God always (psalms 121: 1), look up to Jesus (Hebrews 12:2), and trust in the Lord (proverbs 3:5-6).

Look at Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians 15:10,
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored
more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me”.
The emphasis is on “the grace of God”. Apostle Paul acknowledged the grace of God in his life.
He labored but it was the grace of God who made that labor possible.

So what do you do whenever you feel that walking with God is hard?

• Take your eyes and mind off the fact that it seems to be hard. Stop thinking or worrying about how hard it is. Stop it.

• Give thanks to God for His grace. Remember that you’re not doing it by your own strength, God is all the while effectively at work in you (energizing and creating in you, the power and desire )both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

• Lean in to this grace that is available. The grace is there. You’re the one doing it
physically, but the desire and power for it is from God.
Acknowledge the fact that you have it, and yield to it. Don’t cloud yourself with unnecessary struggle or worries concerning it.

• And then keep moving forward (don’t forget you have to take that step, God won’t move for you).
But you do it knowing that He is all the way with you strengthening you and helping you.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To God our Savior, Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1: 24- 25)

Shalom brethren, till we meet again. 🤗🤭

Wow. This post really spoke to me, so many times I wonder how I would be able to walk with God, truly and faithfully. Sometimes doubt creeps in and I find myself falling, but God is every faithful to pull me back. How he does it, I don’t know, but this post just reminds me to keep pushing and doing the best I can, because it not by my power or might but by the spirit of God which infuses inner strength in me.
